On 28 March 2024, His Excellency Dr Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment received representatives of CRDT and Value Network Ventures (VNV) Advisory Services to discuss our community agroforestry proposal. CRDT was represented by Or Channy (executive director) and Sun Mao (board of directors). Kasturi Navalkar represented VNV.
Kasturi Navalkar described how the project aligns with the Ministry of Environment Circular Strategy, and how it will help lead Cambodia into a Carbon Economy. Or Channy detailed the benefits of the project for local smallholders, with almost one million trees to be planted on 2,500 hectares in the pilot phase alone.
His Excellency Eang Sophallet green-lighted the project, and further discussions will take place in the coming weeks.
