Cambodian Rural Development Tours (CRDTours) specialise in responsible tourism in the Mekong provinces of Kratie and Stung Treng. All tours directly support local communities and environmental conservation through donations to CRDT
We opened Kratie Town’s first tour booking office at an official ceremony at CRDTours’ riverside location on Monday, 21st November 2011. Backed by the Mekong Discovery Trail, CRDTours will continue to work to support conservation and local communities through sustainable tourism, building on CRDT’s previous work in this area.
CRDTours is a sequel of sorts, a new name and the next chapter in CRDT’s community development tours of the past five years – bigger, better and broader in scope. Income from all tours continues to directly support the work of CRDT by striving to improve food security, incomes, and living standards of poor rural communities, all in support of environmental conservation in Cambodia. Trips to the dazzlingly beautiful islands of Koh Pdao in Kratie and Koh Preah in Strung Treng are getting together with numerous sightseeing and experience trips from the Mekong Discovery Trail to form a wide range of options for anyone wishing to discover this region of north-east Cambodia.
CRDTours will show that there is more to this stunning part of the Mekong than just the critically endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins by employing local knowledge and community relationships to take people beyond the pages of their guidebook for a truly rural Cambodian experience. Those that book with CRDTours know that they are making a positive contribution to the places they visit and the people they meet.Find out more on the CRDTours website.
