Update from Stung Treng
In Stung Treng, CRDT has been developing projects along the Mekong River at Ramsar site. CRDT focuses to develop and preserve the natural resources.
This is a new house for the chickens built by the villagers. They were able to do it thanks to a small grant release by CRDT to improve the food security and income generation for beneficiaries and reduce poverty.
In this Province, the Commune Council and Community Group face different issues. They try to interrupt criminal fishery collection net and fishing line, as fishermen take on all the natural resources of the river. Here Mr. Im Thoun, the team leader of the fishery community in Oh Svay village is showing the catches of the patrol group. These are net fishing used in the conservation pool which is forbidden.
