The Koh Pdao Art Group
Through traditional dance the Koh Pdao art group creates drama performances that highlight environmental issues for locals as well as providing entertainment that is unique to visiting tourists. Since 2008, the art group has staged 20+ performances to over 76,000 people in CRDT’s target communities.
The performances have been well received in communities. After one performance in Samphin village, four fishermen handed over their electric fishing tools to the commune council after learning about the consequences of illegal fishing.
Art group members are proud of their skills and understand the role they play as community environmental educators. Members have a good understanding of environmental issues that affect their community and have committed to stop eating wildlife and illegal fishing.
